Every Oscillating Loop Can Be Tuned In Real Time by AI-PID Tuning

Invariably, almost all PID control loops oscillate.

An oscillating loop is both the cause of and the effect of bad plant operation. Almost 30-40% of all loops remain permanently in oscillations. Attempts to de-oscillate a loop while it is oscillating is like trying to catch a falling knief. In view of this challenge, we demonstrate the power of AI-PID Optimal tuning with this example oscillating loop. AI-PID uses the oscillating data not only to identify the process model perfectly, but also re-tunes the PID controller perfectly so that the process is affected by unavoidable UnMeasured PV load minimally. 

Presence of persistent oscillating loops is surely indicative of "poor" loop performance and "incipient" instability. Therefore, removal of such oscillating loops is necessary to realize overall plant performance improvement and efficiency.
